Institute for Human Virology

In collaboration with the University of Maryland Medical System, Maryland General Hospital is a satellite site of the Institute for Human Virology, a program for patients living with HIV/AIDS and other viral diseases.

At the center, patients benefit from an expanded team of physicians with expertise in clinical virology, including HIV/AIDS, HTLV, human papilloma virus, Hepatitis A, B and C viruses, and other viral diseases; access to clinical research trials; and nursing and social work services specifically focused on managing patients with these diseases.

The program provides a continuum of HIV care, which includes the Evelyn Jordan Center Outpatient Clinic, specialized inpatient care at both University of Maryland Medical Center and Maryland General Hospital, long-term care at University Specialty Hospital and the clinical research unit at the Institute for Human Virology.
