General Surgery
General surgery consists of the treatment of a broad spectrum of surgical conditions affecting almost any part of the body. Maryland General Hospital has eleven operating rooms and a state-of-the-art urology/cystoscopy suite in its general operating room area. Elective and emergency surgery is performed here.
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit is located next to the general operating room area and provides intensive observation and care following your surgery. The PACU is divided into Phase I and Phase II areas. Patients are assigned to either area depending on the level of monitoring they need.
Maryland General´s Family Health Center provides care in this medical specialty.
