Pulmonary Medicine

Our pulmonary specialists treat patients with a variety of disorders of the lungs and breathing such as emphysema, asthma, bronchitis, sleep disorders, pneumonia, lung cancer, sarcoidosis and occupational diseases, among others. Respiratory care therapists assist in the treatment and management of patients with pulmonary function problems. Our lab is equipped to perform pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gases.

Patients requiring hospitalization for complex pulmonary problems receive their care in Maryland General Hospital´s Intensive Care Unit, where clinical practitioners assist attending physicians in the management of the patient´s care.
