Nephrology
With over thirty-five years of experience, no community hospital in Maryland has more expertise in treating chronic kidney disease and taking care of dialysis patients. As part of our commitment in providing excellence in kidney care, our services include:
- Nephrology consultations
- Acute hemodialysis
- Chronic hemodialysis
- Peritoneal dialysis
- Arrangements for specialized interventions such as various dialysis catheter insertions and the declotting of arteriovenous dialysis accesses.
On the horizon are plans for an inpatient plasmapheresis program and more specialized training of the hospital staff to meet the specific needs pertaining to chronic kidney disease management.
Social work, nutritional support, and rehabilitation services are some of the disciplines which actively participate in the care of our chronic kidney disease patients. Well established communication between the inpatient primary care physicians and the nephrologists has existed here for many years in helping to deliver coordinated medical care to each individual patient.
