What is The Maryland Vascular Center?
The Maryland Vascular Center is a new facility at Maryland General Hospital that provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of vascular disorders through a multidisciplinary approach. Our staff is made up of Board-certified vascular surgeons and nurses who work in conjunction with each patient’s primary care physician, cardiologist, podiatrist and nephrologist to provide individualized, patient-centered, comprehensive health care. Furthermore, we combine the most advanced diagnostic capabilities with the full range of modern treatment options for vascular disease
The center features clinical space with a full-service, non-invasive vascular laboratory that allows our doctors to identify, diagnose, treat and manage vascular diseases of the head and neck, the extremities and the abdominal organs accurately and painlessly. Quality is the focus of all of the programs at The Maryland Vascular Center. Our diagnostic and treatment protocols are designed to avoid duplication of services and to maximize patient safety, comfort and satisfaction. Most vascular diseases are chronic conditions that require long-term planning and management. The Maryland Vascular Center uses nationally recognized, non-invasive protocols to monitor the progression of vascular disease and the success of both medical and surgical vascular interventions.
The Maryland Vascular Center at Maryland General Hospital is a major affiliate of the Division of Vascular Surgery at the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine and participates in clinical, research and educational activities at the University. Furthermore, The Maryland Vascular Center focuses on bringing state-of-the-art clinical and non-invasive diagnosis, as well as cutting edge treatments, to the communities of West Baltimore. In cooperation with Maryland General Hospital’s commitment to community outreach and the American Vascular Association, The Maryland Vascular Center routinely participates in vascular screening programs within the community to screen and education those who are at risk for vascular disease.
The Maryland Vascular Center has additional locations at the University of Maryland Medical Center and North Arundel Hospital.
