Cardiology Services: Cardiac Catherization

Cardic Catherization
A catheter is inserted into the patient’s artery where it is guided into the coronary arteries. Contrast dye is injected and pictures are taken of the vessels of the heart to identify constrictions or blockages.

 

 

 

Cardiac Catherization is a sterile procedure. It is performed in the Interventional Cardiovascular Suite located in the 1st floor Imaging Department.
