Want to Stop Smoking? We Can Help!
Smoking Cessation Program

The Smoking Cessation Program at Maryland General Hospital offers health screening and individual assessment as well as group therapy and support sessions to help smokers stop. Smokers are involved in a treatment plan and setting goals for themselves that help them maintain a smoke-free lifestyle.

Maryland General Hospital`s Smoking Cessation Program teaches how healthy alternatives, such as diet and regular exercise, can replace the urge to smoke, and how to deal with some of the side effects of quitting, such as weight gain.

"I`d Rather Walk than Smoke"

Put down the cigarettes. Put on your walking shoes. Step into "I`d Rather Walk than Smoke." This program is held at various times throughout the year for individuals wanting to exercise rather than smoke. The group walks are 20 to 30 minutes each and take place in areas close to the hospital.

Both of these programs are free. For more information, please call us at 410-225-8112. We are here weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
