State-of-the-Art Facilities

The surgical suite at Maryland General Hospital includes eight state-of-the-art operating rooms. There are four specialized surgical suites, including one cystoscopy suite, two endoscopy suites, and one ophthalmology suite. In addition, several of our operating rooms are equipped for pediatric ENT and oral surgeries.
Our facilities also include the complete spectrum of pre- and post-operative care.
  • The pre-surgical unit includes 12 private patient rooms and two inpatient holding bays
  • The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Maryland General Hospital is a specialized unit that provides a safe environment where patients who have had surgery are cared for as they wake up from anesthesia. The skilled nursing staff ensure that patients awaken safely and comfortably before either going home or to an in-patient room.
