The Post-Acute Specialty Program
Maryland General Hospital’s Post-Acute Specialty Program (PASP) provides an environment for patients requiring care beyond the acute phase. PASP includes a 40 bed chronic medical-surgical unit and a 20 bed pulmonary care unit.
Patient services on the chronic medical-surgical unit (6 South) are provided 24 hours per day for adult patients requiring wound management, rehabilitation management, dialysis support, airway care and airway management, respiratory, pain management, post surgical care, and long term antibiotic treatments.
Patient services on the pulmonary care unit (6 North) are provided 24 hours per day for adult patients requiring ongoing respiratory care, airway and ventilation management, weaning, and rehabilitation services.
PASP has a team of dedicated physicians, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, patient care technicians, rehabilitation and respiratory therapists, dietitians, and other health care providers. The team approach to patient care is multidisciplinary and collaborative, assisting patients to meet their goals.
