Our programs offer the latest available therapies and focus on self-care to help you manage your blood sugar and prevent or minimize the complications of diabetes. Specialized services include:

Diabetes and Nutrition Education

The Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at Maryland General Hospital offers education programs to help you take control of your disease, prevent complications and minimize unnecessary hospitalizations. Educational programs offered include:
  • Comprehensive self-management program
  • Blood glucose monitoring and management
  • Insulin pump therapy program
  • Diabetes support group
  • Nutrition assessment and education
  • Medication management
  • Special interest topics:
       
    • Traveling with diabetes
    • Understanding your heart health
    • Women and diabetes
    • Men and diabetes
    • Exercising during the winter
    • Carbohydrate counting
Fees are billed to your insurance, but coverage varies. You must obtain a referral from your primary care provider if your insurance requires one.
