Dr. Kapil Gopal Joins Department of Surgery and the Vascular Center at Maryland General Hospital

(Baltimore, MD - August 16, 2010) Kapil Gopal, M.D., M.B.A. has joined the Department of Surgery and the Maryland Vascular Center at Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore. He specializes in the treatment of carotid artery disease, aortic aneurysms, peripheral vascular disease, deep venous thrombosis, complex venous disorders and hemodialysis access using both conventional open surgical and minimally invasive endovascular treatment. He will also offer ultrasound guided endovascular procedures that reduce the risks of dye based endovascular techniques.
Dr. Gopal is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine and completed his internship at the Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. He conducted translational gene therapy research as part of a post doctoral research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania under a National Institutes of Health grant. After completing his general surgery training at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, Dr. Gopal completed his vascular surgery training at Maimonides Medical Center.
